Dr. Lauren Magruder: Expert in Maternal Mental Health, Minority Mental Health, and Transformative Counseling

I founded Seven Wellness, LLC with a deep passion for breaking the stigma around mental health in minority communities and creating a space where healing feels both safe and accessible. With over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, I've worked in diverse settings, including outpatient therapy, residential treatment centers, schools, and more. These experiences shaped my desire to open my own practice, where I could focus on providing compassionate, individualized care.

My primary expertise is in maternal mental health, supporting mothers through pregnancy, postpartum challenges, and the journey of parenthood. I also have a strong passion for working with children and families, helping them navigate life’s emotional hurdles. In addition to counseling, I specialize in supervision and teaching, assisting counselors-in-training as they work toward licensure.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching, speaking, and supervising the next generation of mental health professionals, which is another way I get to give back to the field I love.

Whether you’re looking for support through motherhood, need assistance with emotional well-being, or are a counselor seeking guidance toward licensure, I am here to help you thrive.

“Dr. Magruder led a listening and workshopping session about self-care and boundary setting for birth workers, and she did a wonderful job providing feasible strategies that can actually be implemented! Many of us left the session feeling refreshed and thankful for the space to express things that we'd be holding in. She brings a fresh perspective to the struggles that many women face daily.”

“Dr. Magruder is a wonderful therapist, and I would recommend it to anyone! She was a referral from a colleague and I came to her when I was pregnant. Navigating motherhood and postpartum, especially as a first-time mom, is hard. Whether it’s childhood trauma, friendships, and/or relationships, she listens and challenges you to grow/do the work. She validated my feelings and helped me unpack all the things. Dr. Magruder has a good way of being kind and telling you what you need to hear. Very responsive, relatable, and a safe space. If you’re thinking about taking the step, just do it and schedule your appointment.”
